Rose on Lewis Road

How did you grow there
Rose on Lewis Road
Who knows
How come you showed up here
Did you know I was feeling low
Walking home
Alone

When I saw you peeping, creeping, sneaking
Through the fence
My heart filled with a little rapture at your
Delicate scent

See what youve done here
Rose on Lewis Road
You glow
Why did you come here
With the traffics oh so heavy load
Its grim
But you win

I can hardly stand it some days
Combustion smog it degrades the air
And we take it to be
As normal reality
You cant help but breathe it in
Breathe it in breathe it in

Does anyone notice
A Rose on Lewis Road
Who drove on by
Do you want a garden
Instead of another supermarket
On Lewis Road
Who cares

When I think of the whole wide world
Where pollution has it in hold
In a grip
And I wanna get off
And I wanna get out
And I want to breathe some air

And I know there has to be some hope out there

How did you grow there
Rose on Lewis Road
You know
How come you showed up here
Did you know I was feeling low
walking home
Alone
