Gates of EDO (to the tune of Bob Dylan's Gates of Eden)

Of fear and war the twisted truth
Is money made from death
By companies who truly know
Their contracts are the best
The buisness is an old one
Their consciences are clean
It all goes on inside the gates of Edo

The cancer grows with legal arms
Part-made within the gates
Where precision engineers
Make triggers to rain hate
On enemies around the world
Whoever they may be
Their fate is sealed inside the gates of Edo

A tiny pimple it is true
Compared to the arms trade
The nessicery componants
However here are made
And if Edo is only small
It was not here before
And death drives out from the gates of Edo

A surrounding fence was placed
When protestors did complain
Get out of our fair city now
Get out you work for shame
With their racket of saucepan lids
Against the horror of all bombs
Such is the scene outside the gates of Edo

Of national security
The manager he spoke
Complicity to kill aside
He seemed a decent bloke
But security for England
Is dismembering Iraq
It doesn't matter to those at Edo

The factory EDO/MBM is America's ITT now
Over Brighton's one time peace city
Gathers an ominous cloud
Do I have need of philosophy
To proove it's wrong to kill?
Money talks inside the gates of Edo

The servile soldiers are equipped
With weapons and then trained
In warfare for the father land
And never to complain
But if there were no weapons made
Then they would have no job
And there would be no gates of Edo

The questions they all run so deep
If you question war
The language speaks about defence
But attack is what it's for
And causes made to kill others
Will one day return home
This cause is made inside the gates of Edo

I asked what would employees do
With their considerable skills
If they had another job
Than making tools to kill
It seems they're happy at their work
And must be eager for more war
War pays the wage for those at Edo
